Handbook on criminal mutual legal assistance related to trafficking in persons cases

ASEAN-ACT supported the Supreme People’s Procuracy in Vietnam to develop a ‘Handbook on criminal mutual legal assistance related to trafficking in persons cases’.

The handbook provides information and guidance on the legal procedures and forms required to initiate criminal mutual legal assistance related to trafficking in persons cases.

This is a practical resource for law enforcement, the judiciary and consular functions at central and sub-national levels to refer to and apply in handling trafficking cases which involve foreign elements.

During the process of development, three rounds of consultation were organised to gather inputs and feedback from legal experts and TIP practitioners to ensure the document is practical and user-friendly.

The material was endorsed by the leaders of the Supreme People Procuracy, disseminated to provincial procuracy agencies, and posted on the website of the Supreme People’s Procuracy for all prosecutors across sectors to access.

ASEAN-ACT has secured the permission of Vietnamese counterparts to publish this resource.
